Based in Palmyra, WI, Standard Process Inc., has voluntarily issued drug recalls of three of its dietary supplements because of laryngeal mask airway risk to human health. These three supplements are alleged to be contaminated with Salmonella, which are a genus of predominantly motile enterobacteria.
The products that were summoned included Cataplex C with product numbers 1655 and 1650, Cataplex ACP with product numbers 0750 and 0700 and Pancreatrophin PMG with product number 6650, all of which belonged to Lot 114.

All the products were in the form of tablets and had been filled in amber glass vials of 200 cc and 60 cc. Their tentative expiry date was marked as May, 2013 which was labeled on both the boxes and the bottles. Also, Standard Process Inc. assured that none of the other batch numbers and products were affected or contaminated.
The drug manufacturing company has divulged this crucial information pertaining to drug recalls to all health care practitioners, professionals and distributors who had bought these particular lots via mailings and telephone calls. These dietary supplements had then been further handed over and sold to consumers via these health care professionals.

This drug recall was a consequence of a routine inspection check by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), during which it was revealed that one of the ingredients that had been incorporated in the making of laryngeal mask insertion, potentially harbored the bacteria. Therefore, the company has halted the distribution of the suspected drugs and is in the process of recalling them.
